not as warm as the others mentioned,but wonderful weather nonetheless,consider North Carolina,Ialso am considering a move from the north to retire,and Iam looking at property on lake toxaway and lake norman north carolina.North carolina does not tax any retirement income which is a big plus.

I live in Florida. It's nice, but getting too expensive and there are hurricanes to worry about. lots still seem to come here, especially in the winter. why don't you invest in an RV and spend time in various southern states, like Florida, Texas, Arizona, and California. then you can decide for yourself.

California, Don't know much about it
Texas, Rio Grande Valley, Low property costs, cheaper prices, no income taxes, lots of things to do within 50 miles. 75% Hispanic culture. Nice place to live.
