Well I agree with you that the Grammy's are not the choice of the people, however, they are trying to make a come back after upsetting lots of people with comment made about the President. These comments were made while we were first going to war. As it has played out, lots of Liberals are now on their side and are pushing the Dixie Chicks. However, their are many radio stations that still will not play the Dixie Chicks music because of what they said. I think it should be up to the individual listener if they will buy or listen to the Dixie Chicks. I won't but then that is me, I will not stop someone else from doing so. After all that is what America is about.

I think what she meant is the people who MATTER have voted. The Grammys are a much higher esteemed award than the CMAs, the People's Choice Awards, and all those other bull crap awards shows that are always on combined. Ask any musician which award they want the most, they will tell you, it is the GRAMMY!
By the way, to those of you who don't know, the recording industry's most prestigious award, the GRAMMY, is presented annually by The Recording Academy. A GRAMMY is awarded by The Recording Academy's voting membership to honor excellence in the recording arts and sciences. It is truly a PEER HONOR, awarded by and to artists and technical professionals FOR ARTISIC OR TECHNICAL ACHIEVEMENT, not sales or chart positions.

I LOVE that they won the major awards last night. Not because I am a fan of their music, but because it irritates the living PISS out of people for no reason other than they disagree with their president.
The twisted irony of this is that Bushbots love their shephard because he "stands by what he believes in". The Dixie Chicks do, also, and they are demonized for it.
Quick, Bushies, go turn on Hannity so you can learn what to think about all of this!

I think the award was well deserved. Though what she said was unAmerican in some ways, it is a perfect example of being American. She was only using her first amendment right of free speech, and even though there was a huge thing made about it I totally give the girl props. She showed amazing character by not back tracking and pulling the obvious PR move. She stood by what she said, and never backed down. I believe they paid their dues and congrats to them!

I wasn't stunned in any respect. injury Locker is a greater effective action picture than Avatar. in certainty, eliminate the marvelous seen effects and Avatar is a especially mediocre action picture. It wasn't even the ideal Sci-Fi action picture of the year, District 9 became IMHO.

It's not surprising to me. I saw them in concert in November and they were SPECTACULAR. After "Not Ready to Make Nice" they got a 10 minute ovation that was well deserved.
They have a talent that transcends politics and the same people who revile them now are the ones who were crowing about their talent 5 years ago. Isn't it funny that the people who wanted to shut them down had so many of their CD's to burn... The people have voted... the chicks survived in spite of the spite.

It's because their album and songs are great. The people made the CD #1 on the charts. The fact that they're also smart, brave and 100% correct to be ashamed of moron Bush is just more reason to love them, but their music is the best of 2007 according to many.

No, they're right - at this point, only about 20% of neocon fascists and christian zealots support the bush & the dick, so yes, the people prefer three intelligent women to two stupid old racists.
