I have not, but a co-worker of mine did one time. This set off the fire alarm system to the entire 6-floor building, which had to be evacuated until they found out the culprit. From that day on, the microwave oven had a sign forbidding this guy to make popcorn in it ever again!! He's always had talent for that sort of stuff!!

Yes and I had to replace our microwave, apparently when you are on a codeine based cough syrup for bronchitis you should not operate any machinery not just heavy machinery I put it in for fifty three minutes ( not 5:30) and then went to deal with the cat box, I forgot about the popcorn and fell asleep on the couch ( again codeine based cough syrup puts you in a DAZE) and woke up to smell burning plastice and a loud fizz pop, ( about twenty minutes into the bag) the side of the microwave was burnt and my cats were running aroung with their puffy tails.

Not quite, but I've burnt my share.....that actually reminds me of the time I caught a sandwich wrapper from Arby's on fire once...yes I know you're not supposed to put foil in the microwave but my brain forgot for just a minute....but hey, the fire was Blue!

Is it popped popcorn on fire or is the popcorn popping while it is on fire. Cause that would be cool. Be back in 5 minutes to tell you how it went
