I'm just curious who met who first?
The scene in the flashback is that the girl knows she's going to meet the guy at the hotel, so when did they first meet?
Anybody has any idea?

they met in the present day but when the guy went back to the past the girl there knows that he's going to meet the guy so my question is... How did she know that she's going to meet the guy?

Christopher Reeve met the woman in the present time but I'm not clear about the rest coz I'm recalling the time I watched it like over 10 years ago.

They meet in 'present' day. She's an old lady and approaches him before he ever travels back in time. Because to her, the romance had already happened when she was a young woman. If I remember right, that's the original reason he tries to go back in the first place. It's been a long time since I saw it.

Great movie. I bought it on DVD recently and loved it. Very romantic.
It's kind of a logistical time loop. Which came first the chicken or the egg.... Did Richard go back in time first or did Elise give him the watch first. If you think about it, both actions caused the reactions. It's an endless cycle of Richard going back in time and old Elise giving him the watch, and the cycle has no beginning or end......Kind of hard to explain really. :)
To be honest, the time travel logic in this movie doesn't make much sense. Probably the writer's fault. (Richard Matheson)

this is a chicken and egg question. it goes round and round. if jane seymour didn't visit christopher reeve in the present he wouldn't have tried to go back to 1912. if he didn't go back to 1912 she wouldn't have an idea that he was from the future.

I saw that movie as a kid but I can't remember. I did go to that hotel with my grandparents as a kid tho.... I was thrilled. LOL
