Oh no... it is gonna be bad enough on the roads and stuff with the Olymicis in 2012. Please, let this little island be!

I would kind of like to have the World Cup in the Benelux, but realistically it should be England. It's just across the North Sea from where I live, and England pretty much has all the venues. I don't see why Holland and Belgium would need 5 or 6 40,000+ seaters each, and what would Luxembourg want with a stadium that size!? It's not as if they will suddenly have a stronger team.

Yes, It will have been 52 years since we last hosted one in 2018 and Euro '96 was a great example showing that we can do it. It will be Europe's turn again and within Europe England's turn and in all honesty who would bid against them? With new stadiums such as the Emirates, Wembley and others planned amongst the ones we already have such as Old Trafford and St Jame's we have coverage all over the nation to only exception being the Midlands. Villa Park is worthy but that is only one. The stadiums in the East Midlands are not quite good/big enough

No, although unfortunately, I hope we don't host the World Cup.

I am a football fanatic and I love the festival atmosphere of the World Cup, but as a resident, I really hope this is not going to happen.

Haven't we learnt anything from the Olympics bid ? Who's going to fund updates and development of the stadiums, transportation infrastructure, etc. If it's going to cost me more tax, travel-card and other expenses, and struggle for my mortgage repayments for the next decade, no way I'm going to back this up. Politicians and sports celebs obviously don't give a toss about what normal working people think. If it does come, they should fund it with their own pocket money.

NO! Look how long it took to build the new Wembley stadium and the cost.
I really hope England does not host the 2018 world cup. If they do, they will surely c0ck it up, as sure as day follows night.

Yes, definitely! Euro '96 was amazing & the World Cup would be even better.

Also the host nation qualifies automatically & looking at the lack of talent we have coming through we might need all the help we can get in terms of qualifying!

na! the roads will get to busy and there will be 2 many people.hooligans from across the globe will travel to england and when there team starts to lose they will start fights.for e.g. what happened in manchester in 2006 at the bbc screen and england wont the hosts, but on the other hand, i am a big fan of football so it will be great there a lot of good stadiums and there will be more stadiums for e.g old trafford (manchester), city of manchester stadium(manchester), stanley park (liverpool) emirates stadium (north london) and wembley so why not.

No, waste of money like the Dome, the Olympics, the British Library, the new Wembley. All projects using UK money, especially lottery funds to better the world standing of London.

Why not , it will probably be the only way we will be able to play in the world cup as been hosts, because we wont qualify for any of them the way we are playing.

Yes, and they should get the "rights" to host so that my country Canada doesn't win the rights and waste billions of dollars into crap like football/soccer.
