A Scotsman backing an English bid for a World Cup. The man is a Charlatan. If there were no votes in it, he wouldn`t be doing it. Lets hope he never becomes the next PM of this country. It has to be Reid or Cameron.

Obviously Gordon Brown is a big Lightening Seeds fan and wants to hear a relaunch of the Three Lions on my Shirt ....Footballs Coming Home song in 2018 !
Seriously though, The World Cup Finals are long over due a visit back to the birth place of the Beautiful Game. If England is successful in its application to be the host nation, I'm sure they will be the best finals ever !

Yes, It will have been 52 years since we last hosted one in 2018 and Euro '96 was a great example showing that we can do it. It will be Europe's turn again and within Europe England's turn and in all honesty who would bid against them? With new stadiums such as the Emirates, Wembley and others planned amongst the ones we already have such as Old Trafford and St Jame's we have coverage all over the nation to only exception being the Midlands. Villa Park is worthy but that is only one. The stadiums in the East Midlands are not quite good/big enough

Its part of Brown's job to offer support for any bid..apart from anything else it would bring in a huge amount of income. And by 2018 we will have many top quality big stadiums all over the country.

Its hard to imagine any British football fan being against bringing the WC to England, it would be terrific.

Nevermind Iraq, Afghanistan (remember them?), Africa and our own impoverished, we're going to bring the torunament with the most boring football in the world to our country.

The money would be much better spent in developing grassroots sport.
