We're going to Kerala at Easter and need a hotel in Trivandrum for at least the first few days. Can anyone recommend a decent, but inexpensive hotel?

Also, any recommendations for places elsewhere in Kerala for the main part of our trip?

Cheers

There's plenty of hotels here, but i prefer to stay in hotels where there is some international customer service involved and a good reputation , so I'd recommend the Muthoot Plaza which is located in Trivandrum city's commercial centre - also known "in history" as the city of Anantha. The airport's only 8 kilometres away.

I'm not sure what you budget is, but US$85 sound reasonable for a hotel with a good reputation and the secure ability to book it in advance through a local international website with customer help desks most likely in your region ( North America , Asia , Europe or Australia/NZ ).

I'm sure that you're familiar that the city has rich architecture and ancient monuments, beautiful temples and beaches all located close by. The rooms are large and have modern host of amenities such as cable TV, telephone, radio, data port and others ... they may even have internet connections, I'm not sure. There's a pool and a good restaurant at the hotel as well.

For Kerala you are best to go to the India pages of the website, and for things to do i recommend accessing the Indian Tourism website via Tourism Rankings which is rich in information

I hope that helps a bit.
