Going by the logic, hen must have come first.
If it had been egg, it can't become hen without a hen.
Egg need hen for incubation.
some might argue that we can produce hen from the eggs with artificial incubators today.
Again, It's hard to believe that in those days we had something like modern scientific hatcheries.
Just for the sake of argument, let us accept that once accidentally there was ideal conditions and due to that egg emerged into hen.
But today we know, hens born in artificial hatcheries, without the natural process of hatching are not good in reproducing. Even if they reproduce, the chickens can't live for the average age which a normal chicken lives.
We know that the chicken sustained here on earth for generations. They might have started living on earth even before the humans did. Therefore, they must have had forefathers who are good in reproducing, born by natural means.
Going by all these, It's more logical to believe that the hen came first and somebody created it.
Rest God knows!

If you believe in Creationism the hen, because Godcreated all the animals, it makes no mention of eggs.
If you believe in Evolution then at some point a sea creature laid an egg and it evolved into a hen before hatching.

Charles Darvin, the great evolutionist, posed and answered the question - matter or energy...which is first? Fundamentalists believed it 'energy' whatever its form. Materialists believed it to be 'matter' first. And as far the evolution is concerned,in the above lines, first Galaxy, then space, nebula, stars, solar system, earth amongst others, water, bacteria, creepers, crawlers, fish,so many waterborne and then other animals including birds...is the process which evolved throe billions of years. This being so, why not the hen and hen-like is the first and then only the question of egg follows. Bye the by, egg followed by omelet?Ha..ha..

If you're an evolutionist, the egg came first, laid by a close relative of the hen.
If you're a creationist, the hen came first as God placed her in the garden of eden to be named by Adam.
