I was a big fan of the UK version and figured the US version would be horrible. Boy was I wrong. I love the US version and I think it is superior. I think all of the characters are more lovable (or love-to-hate-able) especially the boss. He isn't likable at all in the UK version and I am glad they made him more stupid and well meaning than just plain mean for the US one.

I'd have to say the UK version. The US version is fun, too, but the humor is British in nature, and I think the British actors pull it off better.

why do we have to have such a partisan view of this? I like the UK version for what it is - the original, one year show, and Ricky is fantastic. I love Michael and all his people in the US version, with the romance, office politics, and non-PC humor

The US version is more accessible. The UK version is more subtle. Both are good.

The UK version of course - and I defy anyone to say otherwise! Ricky Gervais is the new god of comedy.

the two are hilarious, however the place of work (US) seems to be much less dark and greater upbeat than The place of work (uk). Steve Carell is prehaps the funniest guy alive. i might elect to thank the folk from the united kingdom for giving us the belief nonetheless.
