Kim Jong-IL learned the behavior he exhibits from his father before him. He does a lot of Sabre rattling. Makes a lot of noise to try to get what his impoverished nation needs to survive. Rather it is Ahmadinejad and radical Islam that presents the real threat to he free world. I threat I'm afraid don't understand or chose to deny.

“Would he still nuke us?”
You are aware that he is still years away from developing a missile delivery system that can reach the U.S., right? Did you see his latest missile tests? Unless, he is just trying to fake us out by intentionally shooting “dudes” to deceive us. Naw, that’s too devious even for Kim Jong IL.
“..All the White women he wants”
What makes you think he likes ‘white women’? I understand that he prefers expensive Japanese hookers. He fancies himself a real player, I’ve heard. What he’d really like now (if you’re interested in plying him with a vice) is a few cases of Courvoisier (French Cognac). He’s probably been going crazy lately since the U.N. “luxury goods sanctions” has denied him his ‘simply pleasures’ in life. He’s a real Marie Antoinette among his people. (“Let them drink cognac”)
Kim Jong IL reminds me of a "godfather" character in organized crime. He produces and deals drugs for cash, he has a huge counterfeiting operation going on, he treats women like prostitutes and more recently got into the 'insurance scam business'. I think he is "crazy like a fox", as they say. But, I don't think that he is 'crazy' or suicidal enough to sell nukes to terrorists. Not unless he became really hard up for cash.
His real purpose all along is just to 'extort' every dime he possibly can from the U.S. in “financial aid”. That’s what I understand the 6-party talks are all about now; the big $$$ buyoff! He's asking for four times the amount he got under Clinton. He's worth much more now that he's 'hot' (radiation wise, that is). The ‘nuclear extortion’ racket is just one of Kim’s ‘businesses’.
In reality, Kim wants good diplomatic relations with Washington, believe it or not. My Korean (South) friends are not afraid of him at all. They don’t believe for a minute that he would ever nuke them. They’ve got him pegged as a complete scam artist.
The Japanese, on the other hand, are really annoyed with that little, pot-bellied, dictator for all the Japanese citizens he’s kidnapped over the years. I predict they will soon go nuclear themselves (with our tacit approval, of course). That will also teach China a little diplomatic lesson for allowing their “client state” to go nuclear and upsetting the entire strategic balance in N.E. Asia. There's no putting the 'genie back in that bottle' (of plutonium, that is). The Japanese are the ones that the DPRK really has to fear. Koreans still remember being occupied by the Japanese during WWII, and it wasn’t fun.
The U.S. role in these talks is more of an “honest broker”, trying to look out for the interests of our good allies in Asia (i.e. Japan, South Korea and Taiwan). We’re not calling all the shots as much as people think because the U.S. has the least to lose.
