You can take bus service number 76 at the bus stop outside Ang Mo Kio MRT station along avenue 3 or you can also take bus service number 135 (135 also can take from the inter-change but need to walk from the MRT staion lah)
at the bus stop outside AMK MRT station along ave 8. Alight at the bus stop outside the marine parade shopping centre for both bus services.

Take a train from AMK to Paya Lebar MRT. Outside the MRT, take bus 43, 76 or 135. There will be even more buses if you walk to Tanjong Katong Complex.

The bus journey from AMK to Marine Parade is freaking long!
I much prefer taking the train.

There are public buses that depart from Ang Mo Kio MRT to Singapore Zoo/Night Safari. Take the MRT to Ang Mo Kio Station (NS16), then board SBS Transit bus 138. I think it took us at least half an hour to get there. Alternatively, you can also go to the zoo from Choa Chu Kang Station. Take the MRT to Choa Chu Kang Station (NS4), then board SMRT Bus 927 to the zoo.
