Dear blondebombkate,
One possibility is to run Google Earth and type 'Rio de Janeiro', but it will open a sat-picture from our city, with no tourist information.
There is also the city hall website at http://www.rio.rj.gov.br/ , click on 'atrações turÃsticas' located on right side and there you will have some information. The only problem is, if you don't know Portuguese, it will be quite difficult to understand and locate something.
I think the easiest way to find a tourist map, once you will travel to Rio is to buy a guide as soon as you arrive the airport. It is cheap, considering you have to exchange your pounds to reais to buy things here.
I found a website called http://www.rioforpartiers.com/english.html (copy and paste in your Internet browser) and take a look. If you like, you can order it, but I really don't know if this is a good guide or not.
Another (cheap) way to have this kind of information is at the hotel you'll be hosted. Hotels in Rio, most of times have a tourist map with interesting points to visit.
Well, now it is with you. Among these things I presented, choose the better and try it on. Good travel to our city and enjoy!

If you want a tourist guide you could try this website...
even if it doesn't have the maps you require it might point you in the right direction.

This website is one of the brazilian´s best, but it´s restricted by a payed access. But you can try:
http://maplink.uol.com.br/guia-de-ruas-rotas-enderecos-mapas.htm
This other one has the addresses and phone numbers for companies and comercial places:
http://www.telelistas.net/templates/busca_assunto_localidade.aspx?uf=RJ
At this link, the search is by subject:

You can't.
Even if you could, how could you possibly print something as large as a streetmap on a home printer? Think about it...
