Because the media are so wrapped up in their own egos, they build a small mediocre story into a massive piece of sh1t.
It`s just as well we don`t get the winters of the 60`s, 70`s the media would probably hibernate from sheer panic.....

Its this thing about suing people that has come over from America. If anyone falls on your drive these days they will be at you with the white wigs whether they have bust anything or not. So all the people who don't want trouble are worried to venture far in case they slide on the snow and bump into someone. The whole thing turns from a happy occasion into a nightmare - at least for some.

I've often wondered that myself, ridiculous isn't it! We just come to a standstill and panic at the first flurries. They don't do this on the continent, everything and everybody just continue as normal merely taking a bit of extra care while driving. I love the snow and we don't get enough of it here. We are also panicked into a frenzy by the media. I am not alone in not flapping over a bit of adverse weather after all common sense should prevail.

We have become less tolerant of some things in life due to the fact that We have made ourselves too dependant on the government, who take taxes to clear it up,i mean Just look what would happen if all the shops were shut for a week. Hardly anyone would survive.
Yet look around the world, in poorer countries they sruvive although they have poverty, hunger, wars, famine etc, and yet they smile, yet we start fighting in a bit of traffic, and cant tolerate even the smallest of things in life, how civilized are we?

im afraid its media hype
and the usuall case of society with nothing more than 2 sensible brain cells in their too busy lifestyles to deal with something unless they are told what to do and when
common sense has gone out the window

unable to act without instruction

Because the British have become lazy and self-centred, and too dependant on the nanny state to solve even the most minute of problems for them.

We don't panic in Scotland , we're used to it but in England you get about one inch of snow and it's headline news! Schools close , people stay off work....etc......Pathetic.
