My husband had an affair but he ended it 6 months ago. I asked him whether he loved her and replied he did not. However, he told me he cared about her. What does he mean by care? Please define the word for me. Men, I need your input in this.

i forgot to mention that after the affair was over and later discovered by me, my husband made the decision to move back to our home country. He was previously based in Shanghai and the woman is a local there.

What i understand is, as he was in affair with that woman, he is tend to have a soft corner for her. But trust me, as far as i have understood, he is a very good person at heart & a sincere husband too. The "LOVE" is for you dear cause u are with him now. He is trying his best to forget about her and he is succeeding in it its your interest to help him in that by being careful to keep him happy always. Dont Worry he is all yours no doubt!!!!!

you can care about someone and not be in love with them. if you are analyzing what he said, you still have issues with trusting him. He left the relationship 6 months ago. Maybe time for you to let the past go and be glad he left it. He could still be with her. i think thats the main concern.
Anyone who sleeps with another person for an extended period of time, will grow to care about them unless they are a robot.
He's back with you. Thats what I would focus on. Let the other woman go and become a memory of the past.

It means he needs a kick up the ****. Decent men treat their wives with respect, and hold her above every other women in the world. Do not allow yourself to be mistreated. Take it from me, men will do whatever they can get away with. Good for you for choosing to stay in the marriage, make sure that ugly affair is a chapter long closed, and do not allow her name to be mentioned again.

Adultery is the most often cited reason for divorce. Maybe you can discuss with your husband seeing a marriage counseler in an attempt to heal the relationship. Sadly, once adutery is committed, the marriage, is rarely "the same".

If he has left her and is back with you and obvious you are ok with the fact that he is back with you then why would you still be thinking about it from 6 months ago. Why did you want him back? just for the drama because its clear you have not moved on.

what that means is very simple, you either caught him or he ended it out of guilt and would have enjoyed keeping the affair going, but was afraid you would catch him.

I think his definition of "care" might be a bit off. I think he was thinking with his penis and thought that he still was a "stud" and a "player".He got some woman to have sex with him(knowing he was married). That's what he really wanted. Sorry, that's way I see it.
