how do i check if certain games on my 360 have all the relavent upgrades to play online?

When you turn your box on with the game inserted that you want to play and you are connected to xboxlive they will automatically update (although you will be asked if you want the update).

You don't have to, once you put in the disc to play, it will tell you it has an update available.
