Use Skype It won't be free unless the person you're calling also uses Skype (i.e., you're not calling a landline or mobile number).

Nothing FREE!
You either pay for it or walk away.
I personally working for a job that pays $88 bi-montly and can afford Skype service that offers $30 for a year in unlimited call to US and Canada. $38 extra a year for collecting incoming call with your free phone number and voicemail.
This is the best deal on VoIP I have seen!

I don't need gmail, but you can go to skype.com to make calls from computer to computer and if you add money, it will cost about 0.021 cents per minute. Its not free but its close!

Try skype and voipbuster. Voipbuster is cheaper for non free calls.
