Hi people, I am looking for information on how to become a Lawyers secretary and a Doctor's secretary. What I need to know is the training/qualification needed to become a Lawyers secretarty or a doctors secretary, and how to go about getting that training/qualification. Is it needed to attend college or are there special training schemes? I have tried using a search engine to find out but its not turning up anything of interest. Please help! Thanks!

First you must have a firm mind. Then you should be prepared to work for a small remuneration for some time till you prove your skills. No academic qualification required only on hand working experience with your whole hearted involvement will do.

Do a google search for "secretarial schools" also add the name of the big city near where you live. You'll find a school that will offer you the training. I'd suggest a doctor's secretary so you'll have a great health benefit package. You'll need to learn medical terms and I don't think it'll be so heavy on grammar as the lawyers will want you to have and know. Just a thought...wish you the best.

There are many colleges that you can study for a Private Secretary's Diploma, also check out typing courses, this is a must, RSA, ECDL, Clait, There are so many to choose from.
You need to have advance Word Processing skills, my advice is start of small, i was a junior secretary for a Solicitor and got paid buttons but i worked my way up and i am now working for a top architectural firm, as the Personal Assistant to the Director, Hard work does pay off!!

Understanding the basics of the medical and legal profession are going to be a must.

Probably wearing a cute short skirt won't hurt either (j/k).
