How does it smell? If its musky, that's normal. If you expect no smell, and are now experiencing a musky smell, you're probably just not used to precum. Either he produces more then your ex bfs, or it doesn't evaporate as fast. If he's uncircumcised, its likely to stick around a little longer.

If the smell seems odd, but its always smelled the same, I'd guess its diet.

Never heard of pre-ejaculate smelling other than sort of musky. Maybe he isn't washing his head off well, and that is causing the odor. Old sex smell caused by not washing off after sex is really bad.

Depends on his diet. If he eats alot of meat then it's likely to smell. It might be that he has an infection but hasn't realised. You should both go to see your Sexual Health clinic to check it out.
