Of course!
You can send them almost anywhere you would want to. and which place you want to go depends on a few things, like personal preference and culture.

Definitely! Boarding schools are available. They'll cost you about $20 000 in the US and 20 000 pounds in the UK.
They're expensive but yes- worth it. The top boarding schools will open a whole lot of doors in terms of colleges. However, these schools are also very selective, and the younger you send them in, the less of a hard time they will have getting in.
Also, most have closed their admissions for 2007-08 year (the top ones) but many of the others haven't. Even the top ones, a lot allow you to submit late admission forms, although chances of getting in are less.
I have been researching on this a lot for the past week, and at the end of the day, the oppurtunities are amazing but you will have to consider things as an individual.

Yes this can be done. There are many boarding schools that will give your child a chance to experience another culture, in fact, many different cultures. Most US cities have a nice sized Indian community and cultural events and the schools are top rate and have access to admission to top US universities. US universities are very multi cultural and Indian students can excel there to either stay in the states or return to India. Indian medical community in the US is huge and there are many social opportunities within the Indian culture. Some boarding schools arrange for students to stay with Indian families who are sending their kids to the schools as day students, especially girls schools. Try Mount De Chantal School for girls and The Linsly Schoo for boys (or girls) in Wheeling, WV. Both schools have goodly size Indian student base and are top rated schools in the Eastern US
