I am in a very poor country and have been given a one off chance to setup a political debate on TV for young politicians and I need pointers or at least lists of things I need to take care of before we go to press. Thanks guys... and dolls ..love you all.

A good reference for the basics would be any quality book about debate teams in either high school or college. Decide the key topics to be debated , & assign your debaters to argue one side or the other of each issue. I would ask for volunteers if any of them feel strongly about arfuing for or against, otherwise just randomly assign them.
Determine how much time each debater will be allotted for their initial presentation, the response, & then a rebuttal from each side.
It will help to choose topics the youths feel some passion toward.
