Every few months I burp, and it smells and tastes like eggs. What gives?

I'm 43 yr. old Type II Diabetic. No changes in food or meds, it just happens at random times. I'm also not eating eggs before it happens.

I think its indigestion, you can be just taking a pill for the same, a home remedy would be to prepare a pot of black tea and twist in a half of lemon , try to put very minimum sugar , and just drink it up...
It will be over by the next day morning, it works all the time, you will get better and this egg stuff will disappear.

Some disorders will produce specific, characteristic odors to the breath.

A fruity odor to the breath occurs as the body attempts to get rid of excess acetone through the breathing. This is a characteristic sign of ketoacidosis, which may occur in diabetes, and is a potentially life-threatening condition.

A fecal odor to the breath (the breath smells like feces) can occur with prolonged vomiting, especially when there is a bowel obstruction. It may also occur temporarily if a person has a nasogastric tube (a tube placed through the nose or mouth to the stomach to drain the stomach contents) in place.

The breath may have an ammonia-like odor (also described as urine-like or "fishy") in people with chronic kidney failure.

That was happening to me about once a month for several months. I always ended up vomiting. It seems to me that it is a digestive or stomach issue. Note what you have been eating when that happens and see if there is a trend. Peppermint, fennel and ginger are very good for upset stomachs. Apple cider vinegar is great for heartburn.
