For PCs, they will make sure that the disk drives are properly wiped, unlicensed software is removed etc, and give them an electrical safety check - making it safer for both you and the eventual recipient than giving it straight to a deserving cause.
For peripherals, donateapc can match you with someone who wants what you have to give.

- Charity:
.......-Orphanages or institutions.
.......-The Church or some other religious order..they usually taken them readily enough.
.......-Some voluntary group (for a good cause) that needs funds.
.......-Someone you might know that would appreciate them
-Sell it:
.......- in a car boot sale
.......- on eBay
-Discard it:
.......-be a good citizen and take them to a recycling centre
.......-be a bad citizen and shove them onto the lawn of your law-abiding neighbours, complete with a Banana Skin and a Half-Eaten Fish. This, however, is not ideal and I suggest you do not attempt this.
-Get creative:
.......-take out the electronic stuff inside it, and use the plastic covers in aquariums, instead of putting pathetic plastic sunken ships. But this is worth doing only in the case of a VERY OLD piece of equipment lol
That's what i could come up with. Hope it was useful.

purely positioned all of it on the community Craigslist pc board. The huge apple one is hopping, and in case you fee issues actual, they are going to circulate rapid, particularly on condition that we are in a recession that makes used products have a much wider objective audience. some issues, however, like your broken difficult disk, have relatively no street fee. might get a taker interior the loose section, yet I doubt all of us will declare it except it has a custom enclosure.

Check with your school district or chamber of commerce. I donated a computer a couple of years ago to my chamber of commerce. They had someone that was rebuilding them and donating them to students who couldn't afford a computer.

You can give it to the Salvation Army or if anything else, you could just take it to your local recycle center.
