Yeah! Stupid poor people...cleaning up after everyone, cooking the food, working all the thankless jobs for under $10/hr. It's their fault that the majority of jobs in America don't pay all that well, and it is their fault that they didn't go to college! I mean seriously college is so cheap these days, and being a latch-key kid b/c both of your parents are working all the time creates such a stable environment for intellectual growth! How dare they want to feed and clothe their family! It's disgusting I tell you...disgusting!

I would rather be in a position where I could raise minimum wages & create jobs to help them out. Not all the poor want to live in cramped cars, some with children, or worry about where their next meals will come from, or even where to use the restroom or wash their faces. I'm not a huge fan of poverty or its causes. As for the poor themselves, I have no ill feelings towards them, just compassion. As for the lazy ones, I'd cut them off within 6 months if they found no job or were on assistance programs, especially if there were no kids involved.

I grew up thinking I was poor because my family placed little value on material things and much value on service to the unfortunate. I have logged in many hours as a volunteer in social work and while there are those who do take advantage of social service programs, most are just down on their luck and don't have the skills necessary to cope.Thank goodness for all the "poor" because many social services workers who are middle class and directors who make upwards of $70K per year would be out of work. I have also found that historically, the poor are much less selfish than the wealthy, who have a tendency to feel "entitled", even if their story is one of "rags to riches."

Excuse me buddy...but I'm a 57 year old college grad with a specific goal, and because people use prejudice against AGE when hiring, that's what makes me poor. I have a low pay, part time job and the state won't help me because I have no children living at home...so I suck money off no one. There are more where I come from with the same issue. We don't BEG because we know they won't help US...just the ones who make a career out of being poor on purpose and do NOTHING ABOUT GETTING AN EDUCATION...and BTW, your tax dollars paid for mine. So people like you should be praying for people like me to find the better employment they so deserve. And to comment on your statement..No, we've done nothing to you AT ALL. And just to add another tid-bit for your manly heart, I was maybe granted a free roof over my head from my EX but that's all he gave me. Before I got this low wage, part time job...I had nothing and lived off change to feed myself.

I know there are a few poor people as you describe, but most are not. Most are good, honest, hard-working people trying to provide for their families. My guess is that you're not a Christian--may God forgive you and bless the poor!

I have to agree with Chole
I and many of my friends are in the same mess
Some even paid higher taxes than what you make in a year and then the big company lays you off for their financial benefit and
they can't get assistance quick enough and lose their house that they spent their whole life paying on

Poor people are not entrants in a fan club or reality series.
They just want basic services they cannot afford because our Government and big business are in collusion to milk America for all it's worth.
The ones who resent the poor the most are the same ones who are against pro-choice, they are staunch Christians, they advocate killing off the rest of the world peoples and bastardizing their cultures and they are closet degenerates of the worse kind. (I think their name is Legend or Repub or something like that).

Turn off there cable TV during the day and give them a public service job to do. If they learn to the gratification of a job well done there self esteem will rise and the thought of being at the public tuft will be unappealling.
