Surely they can see through all the extravagent claims and promises.
Promises that are simply designed to get votes.
Most of which could not be achieved in a 100 years. When one thinks of the brilliant minds that must exist in the States it beggers belief that the candidates like Hilary Clinton and Borrak thingy are well in the running for the White House in 2008. Heaven preserve America!!!

Unfortunately the general public does not learn. Anyone who continues to listen or believe anything a campaigning candidate is saying is 100% naive or just plain ignorant. The only thing we can base their qualifications is their past record and the way they have lived their lives. "By their fruits they will be known".

It is true that the intelligence of most politicians is average. They simply have a gift of gab. A lot of them could not make it in the public sector.

Most truly intelligent people would not put themselves into this corrupt quadmire.

I personally feel Newt Gingrich has the greatest intelligence of any politician but his practical thinking in knowing what the Country needs turns too many off.

Our elections are simply a popularity contest.

Actually, the liberals and the Democrats who will be the electoral base of either Obama, Clinton, or another Democractic candidate tend to be pretty good and double and triple checking information. That's one of the reasons the other side so often accuses us (wrongly) of being unpatriotic. We like to ask questions... just not as much about our representatives' sex lives.

No more gullible than the British who believed all the guff that Tony Blair dished.

It's no different in the UK. We have Gordon Brown next in line for King of the **** ups, pot smoking David Cameron and as for the Liberals they're all in the wilderness of political obscurity.

They sure do! Hillary said last weekend that she would stop global warming!
Barack Obama made jokes about Australian Prime Minister John Howard's comments on his cut and run strategy for the Middle East.

It is unfortunate that the elections seem to be 50/50 and so close.

I have soo much to say to you but in a nut shell. Ok perhaps some of the things they say are a lil too ambitious but hey that's how Americans are. There is nothing wrong will wanting the best for your country. You know what they say; if you reach for the stars, if you fail you might still touch the sky.
And his name is Barrack Oboma and I'm rutting for him!
