I am a GP used to prescribing drugs and recommending over the counter purchases.
I find that OTC preparations to date , with the exception of the morning after pill seem to be sold in low strengths, compared to prescribed medication. Like the morning after pill, which retails at £25 but is free on prescription cost will be a big issue I am sure.
The cost price of 4x 100mgs Viagra to the NHS is about £25. Adding chemists profit to that, unless they change it's price structure apparently its to be £50 to buy OTC!
Male impotence is much more common than most people think, I suspect it affects at some level 40% of males over 50 years, so theoretically at least the potential market is hugh.
I have 2 worries, firstly a % of men who suffer from impotence have an important underlying cause, often this is diabetes or vascular disease. It would be unfortunate if these patients by passed their doctor entirely and didn't get a diagnosis. Secondly I dread the thought of teenage experimenters taking it just for the sake of it. Adding to the vast array of unnecessary pills they swallow.
On the plus side men who have genuine impotence problems and are denied Viagra on the NHS. Only some patients are currently eligible for it,(which I think is unfair). Will find it easier to obtain.

We were talking about it earlier at work. 1 tablet 2 hours what a waste. Most people won`t go for two hours so why not chop in half.....don`t know about trying it, there is something unnverving about it.

I found a bottle of them once left behind by a tenant of a house I rented out, put them in my beside drawer "just in case", and forgot about them. Six months later I came across the bottle again and noticed that most had been used. Turned out my 17 yo son and his girlfriend had been using them!! Worst thing was - they thought they were mine!! ps, he recommended them, whether you "need" them or not, so might try them one day just for the hell of it.
