In India donkeys eat papers. Paper eating is a form of the eating disorder Pica. People with Pica tend to crave non-food items, such as paper, clay or dirt. Pica is often caused by iron-deficiency anemia.

The chemicals used on paper and the ink on the paper are not safe for human consumption. It is known that you can get mercury poisoning from eating paper.
Evidence suggests that there may be several causes of pica. One widely held theory points to iron deficiency as a major cause of pica.
You can consult a doctor to treat for 'PICA'

Look, paper consists of wood pulp, glue, water and usually chlorine. Not very healthy, and not very nutritious either. Speaking of nutrition: Do you feed you hubby at all? If not, I suggest you do as your dining table ( made of Wood as well) could be next!
