Pro-abortion.

There was a bill introduced in the Senate that would mandate that babies who survive an abortion attempt and are born alive must be given medical attention. He voted against it.

He also voted against the ban on partial-birth abortion.

Here is a description of what partial-birth abortion is:

He's pro-choice. It's up to the individual to decide whether or not to abort a fetus. I'm pro-life, but those are decisions based on conscience and morality.

I am not American and I have no opinion or knowledge on Obama, but I do have one on the issue of abortion. I am against abortions as much as anyone can be. But I don't believe in making them illegal, and I'll explain why: a woman who makes this choice goes through a tough decision, a wrong one in my opinion, but definitely tough. I think the parametres connected with it (killing her baby, damaging herself, etc) are much stronger than the law. So if she reaches a point of making the decision nevertheless, and disregard her baby's life and her own health, the law is definitely something she'll disregard. So making it illegal will only make her do it in hiding, in a place with no infrastructure, and jeopardise more lives, make some law-breaking doctors rich, even in later stages of pregnancy. Otherwise, at least the situation is under some control.
