we aren't copying tom kat's daughter's name. We are taking this name as well. The name doesn't have copyright. Anyone can take it. I just wanted to know how you like/dislike this name. We love Tomkat's daugher Suri as well. She is the most adorable girl i have ever seen among celebrities babies.

Right now, I live in Taiwan where my husband lives. But he will be coming with me to the US soon. We will leave our daughter here in taiwan with my husband's family until she is 2.
How likely she will have peer on her name??? I mean, Kids have their names as Nicole, Paris, Justin, Britney, Tommy, Katie, Christina, Jessica. Aren't the names "common names" anyway??? Thanks again for your opinions.

Thanks for sharing your opinions. I appreciate it. My husband last night said about "don't worry about what other people like or dislike, as long as we like it, it should be fine" so, for those of you who said the same word as my husband said, I would like to extra thank you. For those of you who said hate it or dislike it or okay or anything like that, i still thank you for your honest opinion. Plus extra thanks to who gave me alternative names.

Suri Christine - okay
Suri is definately different & not many people are named that. I think that it is a cute name. I dont think that you are stealing the name at all. Like you said, Tom Kat did not copyright the name so anyone can use it. If it is a name that you & your husband like & are comfortable with, go for it. Dont worry about what anyone says about it.

I tried looking at babynamesworld.com to see if Suri name had a meaning behind it & didn't find the name at all. My answer is "I do not like it"
Christine means "anointed". Beautiful & very feminine sounding name. I would prefer a name with meaning. I found some that are similar to Suri w/ meanings.
Sumi - elegant
Sundari - beautiful
I wouldn't pick these names but I would pick them over Suri.
I would suggest a name like
Stephanie which means "The crown of Glory"
Stephanie Christine Wang sounds beautiful, strong & elegant!
There's so many names to choose from on this site.
Hope this helped you!
Have fun whatever you & hubby decide.

I like Suri with Wang better than I like it with Cruise. It fits better. Christine seems kind of like an American-sore thumb in the middle there, as it doesn't have the subtle Asian flair the rest of the name does. It's like my friend's baby---Sophia Kathleen Ferrari. The first and last name have the Italian thing going on, and the middle name is a sharp contrast to me as it is Irish. I would pick a more neutral middle name that fits better with Suri, like Lee or May (both are American but resemble Asian names). Of course, if Christine has a special meaning to you, then go for it!

I quiet like the name since I heard it - I think that it's beautiful, not 100% fond of Christine as a middle name, but Suri Wang sounds beautiful, it's got a Hollywood feel to it.
Do you have any other ideas for a middle name?

I love the name Suri, but not the middle name of Christine. Have you thought about Suri Mae Wang? Or Suri Lynn, Suri Hope, Suri Rose? Good Luck!!!

I personally wouldn't use Suri because the TomKat association is not a good one for me, but if you love it then I would go for it. What about Sari Christine? I believe the name Sari means "princess" much like the name Sarah.

I personally prefer Sukie Christine Wang. I don't like Suri- possibly b/c I can't stand Tom Cruise, but I still like Sukie more.

It is a name that has been plastered all over the magazines and media until I'm tired of seeing it. You might try a different spelling such as Surie, Suree, or Surea.

It's okay. I don't love it, but it's not terrible. I would consider a different spelling such as Surrey, but it's completely up to you.
Consider:
Surrey Calysta Wang
Surrey Crystal Wang
Surrey Cassandra Wang
Surrey Catherine Wang
Surrey Christina Wang
Good luck either way!
