I like both natural representations, as well as free form--things that feel nice just to touch.
Since you say you are not any good at the forming of professional clay, then I would suggest you stay with the free form. Natural representation requires that you be very true to life.
For the free form...you are attempting to attract people to touch the piece. That is the most desirable outcome for this type of art. So make it a shape that just invites the hand to explore. Get creative.

Hi:
I really like decorative tiles - like really interesting art tiles in Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts styles. I also really like crystalline glazes on clay pieces. For functional pieces, I really like oval shaped plates. I sort of have an idea in the back of my mind to make these myself, but I don't mind passing along what I like.

unique, abstract art, preferably something nastalgic, like something you would expect only in the late 60s, or only in the early 70s, or 50s, etc
