ipod shuffle compared to the nano?

i really want a ipod nano and i already have a shuffle. mum says i dont need one coz i have a shuffle.. what i want about the nano is that you can have pics and much more songs on them .. and accutaly see what your playing .. should i get one and whats really good about the nano compared to the shuffle and also if i drop a nano will it break

The Nano has of course the screen. Furthermore it has the clickwheel. This means, you can scroll through menus and playlists and directly jump to a song you want to hear. With the shuffle you can only skip to the next song in your playlist or (if you have shuffle on) to another randomly selected song.

The Nano is surprisingly tough. Although you shouldn't intentionally drop your iPod, there is a website, that tried to break a Nano, by dropping it on concrete, throwing it out of a car, running over the Nano with that car, throwing it up in the air to let it smash on a concrete driveway.
All the time the Nano was still able to play music. Even after being run over a car and dropped very often.
After throwing it up in the air and letting it drop on concrete, it finally died.
Furthermore, the Nano was badly scratched and not as pretty to look at.

But don't take that as an excuse to redo this and complain, that your Nano broke. "Your mileage may vary" as they say.

The nano can usually hold a lot more songs than the shuffle, and it has a screen so you can see what you're playing. Those are the only differences.

If you drop either of them, they will break.
