I used to date someone in that field and they told me that if they weren't wearing heels of like 7 in. then what they did could be called prostitution.

I was wondering if this law was real or not, or at least what the specifics were.

Heel height is regulated by county law in Texas.

Obviously, this is a male asking this question... Have you ever tried to wear 7" heels? It's virtually impossible for ANY woman to wear much more than a 5" heel without literally standing on their toes! (Platforms may make it easier, but then the heel is not as elevated from the toe--a 7" platform heel may also include a 2" platform for the rest of the foot..)

A woman would have a VERY hard time walking, much less dancing, in 7" heels, w/out breaking her ankle or her neck! :)

It is not statewide. The county commissioners of each county set that height.
The size of the heel is by formula, it is: The circumference of the largest cheek, if assymetrical, divided by the age of the dancer (driver's license proof required) x's Pi / divided by the number of their children multiplied by their inseam/area in inches of their left breast. The county judge, if male, and his commissioners are charged with enforcing this law.

I've only heard that dancers must wear shoes. That's probably because the health dept doesn't want bare feet where food and drink is served.
Prostitution is pretty well defined as performing a sex act for pay.

Cities regulate sexually oriented businesses and not the state.
