You're right, Goodwill and other thrift stores will often throw out clothing that is stained or torn.
A few good options for these items of clothing are:
1. Use them as rags for cleaning the house
2. Put them on www.Freecycle.org , someone will have a use for them
3. Donate them to a local animal shelter. Small, no kill animal shelters usually welcome used clothing for bedding and rags.

Sure you can still give it to good will. But you could also recycle them yourself. Use them to wash the car, use on the outside of the house or just for those really nasty jobs anywhere. Once washed they can be torn up for dusting, cleaning the fridge, stove, anything.

lots of the donation agencies sell or provide the non repairable outfits to the rag agencies. They in turn cause them to into smaller products for use as rags and bought to marketplace for cleansing. there have been some rag agencies that took products at as quickly as from the ordinary public yet i've got not considered that throughout years. often those agencies circulate under the catagory of wipers.

We have an organization that comes thru the neighborhood about once a month that collects old clothing. They claim they will take "almost anything". You can check if they accept "old" clothing in your area. www.vva.org
