why it necessary for a country to have nuclear power nation??

Countries which have nuclear weapons claim that it is deterrent to avoid war. I think it is a weapon which can be used against unarmed civilians including women and children. There is no need to further elaborate. I feel that world has realized the situation and every effort is being made to control further spread of this menace. Atomic powers should also think of destroying/reducing their existing stock.

It is cheaper and way more effecient to run. It is also MUCH MUCH cleaner than coal and oil. Pollution is a big problem which countries are trying to reduce by going to nuclear.
