(Economically, China is considered a self sustained economy, meaning without US trade they'll be just ok. Trade with US make them them hold unused billions of USD reserves, i.e. USD value in their hands)
China proves that they are capable of destroying satelites, as small as that 3 feet width thing.
Without satelites, US military functions might not be that effective. It will be more like WW2. Historically, (with the exceptions of Iraq and Afghanistan which US relied too much on Satelites technology) US failed on ground battles, Vietnam or WW2 with the Japanese. US clearly won that WW2 because of using the then WMD, the atomic bomb.
In WW3, powerful countries like Germany & Rusia might back up China. Not to mention others like Iran & Syria. ( N. Korea might not be on either sides, but given a choice, they'll target US more than others.)

I have not studied the socialization on China much in recent years. But I will tell you that I think they would win in a war with us. For a few reasons: 2 billion people in the population so the army is probably at least 10 million deep. What you said about them economically and standing alone so it's not like their economy would be drained while manufacturing weapons and fighting a war. And its interesting that they have a good working system to get things around to people being a communist country. I don't know if Germany or anyone else would back them up, but standing alone they could reek havoc. The U.S. would need 3 or 4 other countries to team up with us to fight them and win. Also, they have nukes just like we do.

I strongly believe that China is a huge threat to our country.
They have millions of troops who are trained and by pure numbers they could just walk across our country and take us over. Why? Not sure But this earth seems to be full of men wanting to control the world.
We are at a disadvantage because we are lethargic in our spirit. Our youth are spoiled and don't see the world beyond their video games. They give little thought to honor or dignity of our nation. If we were attacked we would be ill prepared. Can you imagine how our country would flounder without all our excess and self absorption.

check the record on recent wars that America have been involved in,they were against countries that were not so well equipped but that didn't give them a win.taking on china would be a very silly move i think

China has always been about isolationism, they haven't changed in the last 2000 years...I doubt they will in the next 100.

The Germans were harder to defeat than the Japanese. Their weaponry was advanced and they had superior tanks. The United States will always win a conventional war.
