I think Marjorie Dawes, the terrifying leader of weight loss support group 'Fatfighters' would approve of it, or Dust, as a fine weightloss method.
Eating in excess of your needs is another thing, so it all depends on your lifestyle. There are tons of active cannabis smokers, tons of thin ones in the Netherlands, so they're not gaining much weight.
Side Effects - iIt's not well researched, unlike the medicinal products made from it, usually for pain killing. Its other benefits are still being looked at, so expect the pharmaceutical companies to milk it for all it's worth.
A little of what you like may be no bad thing. The following article looks at how Cannabis may help brain cells to grow. (The opposite of what many opponents say):
'A synthetic chemical similar to the active ingredient in marijuana makes new cells grow in rat brains. What is more, in rats this cell growth appears to be linked with reducing anxiety and depression. The results suggest that marijuana, or its derivatives, could actually be good for the brain.'

Good luck! Rob

Yes it will make you gain weight but it may be a delayed reaction as it makes you crave things you ll eat and not feel full then you will just want to crash out.
The reason that it helps some people with m.s is that it helps people to relax which for these people less pain

I agree with Ether Man, I also knew someone who smoked it for a long time and he also became extremely paranoid. I've read that it can also affect memory but don't know if that's true.
With the M.S. it acts as a painkiller.
Gaining weight - munchies! You'll eat anything!!

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/DNhh9
A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

Cannabis does not, of itself, cause the weight gain. It does, however, improve appetite...and if you eat too much, then you gain weight.
What are its other side effects?
1. Reduced risk of alzheimers.
2. Reduced risk of heart disease and high blood pressure.
3. Reduced risk of all forms of cancer.
4. Reduced risk of lung cancer specifically when compared against tobacco smokers and even when compared against lifelong non-smokers.
5. Reduced risk of drug addiction.
6. Reduced risk of diabetes.
7. Reduced risk of inflammatory disease.
8. Reduced risk of depression and anxiety.
9. Reduced risk of impotence.
The fact that cannabis reduces inflammation is one of the things that makes it so promising as a treatment for MS.

Despite the many PC advise and the drop in it's legal status, this is bad stuff....honest. Long term studies show a significant increase in both low grade and serious mental disease in chronic users. I have certainly seen significant numbers of patients who have developed depression and more worrying schizo affective disorders. There is some scanning evidence of physical brain damage and brain shrinkage.
Also don't let anyone tell you it is not addictive! I have dozens of youngsters who just can't get off it.

cannabis only makes you gain weight because it makes you hungry more often, usually late at night when the body doesn`t digest food as rapidly as the day time
