I asked this question last year, but I never got a decent response, so here it goes again...

What moron decided to drop the "H" & why do certain people believe that they sound so intelligent when they do?!!!
Let me explain...
-This is a new phenomenon. I would say that the trend caught on a few years ago.-
I used to hear this more frequently on AM radio & news broadcasts/documentaries,etc., but now it's everywhere!
EXAMPLES:
When people are talking, they will say "youge" instead of huge, "youman" instead of human, etc.
It sounds so stupid!!! People have been pronouncing the H for a long time & now they're not.

What's up with that & who decided to change the rules?

I am talking about plain spoken English. I am not referring to any specific dialect. I am talking about people who think they are smarter than everyone else, not people who happen to speak with an accent-that is not the point.

That is my biggest pet peeve!!!! I cannot stand the way people don't pronounce the H. What is wrong with these people?? So many people do this these days. I don't understand either and I want to correct people every time I hear them mispronounce those words.

Cause half the population in the US is Hispanic and that's how they do it. Learn to enjoy diversity in others. Life is a "salad bowl" made up of many different ingredients. A salad of only lettuce would get real boring fast.
