Probably always has been, but way more obvious this year. Al Gore at the Grammys, talking about his love of music and the environment? Give me a break. Doesn't anybody remember the PMRC?

These girls clawed their way against adversity when they could have skulked away into obscurity. Actually, if you listen to the lyrics, the song IS NOT about the President, but the death threats and violent backlash from the public over a flippant, ill-timed comment that the media exploited to the fullest.

It was a message about coping with the anger on the journey to forgiveness. Other musicians supported them because they understand the role the media plays in these matters. So, in that way, yeah, I suppose it is political.

And the underdogs won. Bravo!

And not to dis James Blunt, but I am really done with that song.

The only downside is that The Red Hot Chili Peppers didn't win.

After All the Crap the Chicks and their fans went thru, this is 110% Vindication for all of us!!! When the Bandwagon fans, Nashville, and the Industry turned their backs on them and us, The Real True Fans. The Real True Fans kept on Supporting them!!! Anybody who is a Real True Fan of theirs is Smiling from Ear to Ear. This makes My Year!!! I went to their Concert in November in Phoenix, it was smaller in scale compared to their last tour when they were Huge, but it was Great to see The Real True Fans come together and support the Chicks!!! So Natalie has every right to do what she did at the Grammys, She could have been Nastier, but it was Great that She did it the way She did it by saying, "Well, to quote the great 'Simpsons' — 'Heh-Heh.' So "Heh Heh" to all those people who turned their backs on the Chicks!!!

That's the nature of the beast when the U.S. is so split down the middle of the politcal line. There are a lot of people in entertainment who like to express their opinions, and it makes it difficult to completely enjoy music and videos knowing that most of them have some kind of political skew hidden in the lyrics or in the scripts. Things will hopefully settle down soon.

Young people are not in touch with what our government is doing . I was glad to see the Dixie Chicks get some credit for their talent; instead of being chastised by speaking freely.

The current "regime " is taking away our free speech ... While we sit idly by. And many other freedoms from constitution are at stake of being lost in the United States....VOTE PROTEST
too many good old boys up in Washington.

Nope, I'm not a DC fan by any means, but it's nice to see them get the last laugh... you should be able to express those 1st Amendment rights every once in a while...
