Xbox 360 question, Gears of war....?

Can you play splitscreen on xbox live for gears of war? Like with another person using your xbox with another controler, but on xbox live. I think you can because in rooms there are people like Jimmy and Jimmy[1]. And they come at the exact same time.

yes you can first go to player match and plug in a second controller and if you look at the bottom left of the screen there is a letters saying sing in guest use that second controller to log in as a guest and find a match or create one.
