Because in the male mind, to a certain degree, it's unladylike to do something a man does or might do.
It's the reason why a guy can have sex with a bunch of girls and it's cool but if a girl does the same, she's labeled a ****.
In short, it's a double standard. Y'know having your cake and eating it too.
Not all guys want to have a few women at a time but, when you're young, it's kinda the thing to do seeing as how there's no real commitment in sight outside of the b/f and g/f titles. Not to mention a lot of guy's friends do it so they have to do it too by association to fit in.
I been there, done that. Contrary to popular beliefs, not all guys are 2 timing dirt bags, you just have to look a little harder for the ones that aren't.

Because we guys are horny jerks and you women are kind, thoughtful, sensitive, wonderful beings. We guys (well some of us) believe that girls were MADE EXCLUSIVELY for them, and that the girl is the OBJECT of pleasure for men. Yes, an object. One that can be thrown away when "used completely". Ergo, the two- (and sometimes three-)timing on the part of the man.
Men also have short tempers, and believe that being "screwed over" in a department store (or a girl going behind his back) is a blow (for lack of a better term) to their masculinity. Men are imbued with a sense of being the "top dog", much the way an alpha wolf is in a wolf pack.
Most men have that wish, yes. I couldn't go through my school without hearing "Dude, how cool would two girls be?"
Hope this made sense.

PS Most guys are like this. I, however, am not, specifically because it's hard enough for me to find ONE girl to be with, let alone two.
PPS Dion (above) makes a lot of sense.

it does apply to both sexes i had a friend that cheated on her husband and they did split up for about 3-4 days but he did give her a second chance and she has never done him wrong again or givin him reason to beleive that she would do it again. for her she had to make the mistake to realize that her husband was what she wanted and that she couldnt lose him. and for men thinkin that they need more than one women, for some it is true but most its not. just depends on the guy you pic that is how it is in dating and relationships

Have you ever watched the show "CHEATERS"?
It applies to women as well as men.
There are men & women both that want it all. Two or more partners and forgiveness too.
Go figure. What are these people thinking?
