They are typically sneaky, typically liars, typically cheaters, typically corrupt, and take office to further their personal agenda instead of representing their constituents

Most of them start out with good intentions. Unfortunately the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and eventually even the best of them get corrupted by power. It's part of the job, like a tech working in a nuclear power plant eventually getting radiation poisoning.

The only politician I can ever remember being close to honest, was Bobby Kennedy, and the Palestinian problem put an end to that before Rosie could tackle Sir Han Sir Han. Bobby was the best and brightest of the Kennedy's and about as tragic a loss to this country as Dr. King. It is enough to make the blogbaba think poorly of all Palestinians just because one of them was a murderer of a great man.

The blogbaba is a lot of things but a bigot isn't one of them. I know all Palestinians weren't dancing for joy on the west bank when the twin towers fell. That video clip, briefly aired on our Jewish dominated media only showed a couple hundred of them dancing for joy at our horror and pain. But all Islamic Fundalmentalists were.

All those Russian school kids (hundreds in one day) who got murdered so that Muslim extremists could make a point, might not feel that same way Putin does about George's crusade. But I'll bet some of the survivors don't think George getting the Iraqi oil for a few less of those sick bastards being is the world is a bad trade. That doesn't make Putin or Bush right, but it sure doesn't make them typical either.

Yeah, I know, Jews kill Arabs, and I saw little kids, being pulled out of the ruble of there homes by grieving parents too, but enough insanity already. The biggest problem a ploitician of any note faces is that a nut case ends up shooting the ones who try and stop the insanity.

Sadat wanted peace, he got killed, Rabine wanted peace, he got killed, any politician in Lebanon who apposes Hezbollah walks around with a target on their chest. In the U.S. we got everything from JFK to Sonny Bono sking into a tree. There are typical problems, then there are the problems that arise from dealing with problems that are not so typical.

Christ, without the religion ended up the same way, killed by the people he served. And least we forget, in the U. S. at least, politicians are still supposed to be public servents. Your question, as briefly worded as it was, was a lot deeper than the blogbaba wanted to go. I hope I helped.

I think promises are the biggest.
"I promise you lower taxes."
"I promise we will bring our troops home"
"I promise we will help the homeless"
"I promise no child will be left behind"
"I promise we will help rebuild New Orleans"
I am so tired of promises. I got to a point with my own mother that I told her not to make any promises of things that she knew she could not deliver. She has never made another promise. If you're not 99.99% sure about something, don't promise it. Broken promises are the worst.
I also think that they spend too much money slinging mud at the competition and by the time we get to the polls we have no clue what they truely stand for. The pick issues that are safe and not controversial in any way so they do not jepordize their spot.

They exhibit an air of arrogance, and forget that they work for the public, not the other way around. For the most part, the will of the people are ignored or circumvented in some way. They also are beholding to the highest bidder, meaning lobbyists, and they refused to pass meaningful campaign finance reform legislation. We need serious people to solve serious issues. Most have a country club mentality, and that just isn't right.

One word: GREED.

If you want better answers be more specific. "problems" is a broad, general term. Do you mean political, personal, social, educational etc.

the public and their nosiness...delving into peoples lives like they have the right and then treat them like scum, if they try to explain or ignore it.
