I don't know about sweep, but Dodgers beating them in the standings? I'd say that is almost a given. The Giants have been saying for years they need to start a youth movement. Yet they keep the same core on the field (who coincidentally age a year each season, little known fact). With Zito and Cain, the Giant's rotation will be better- but the Dodgers beat them handily in hitting, fielding, and bullpen.

Basically, the Blues are trying to win the division, while the Giants have tossed the season so they can have another year of overpaying Bonds to fill the stands.

Sweep? Probably not. Win the series' ? It's a possibility. It's kinda hard to say until the season actually starts cause things change, players get injured/traded/DFA. The Giants were supposed to be creating this new "younger" system this year but that never really happened. Their bullpen is going to be weak again this year, but the rotation I think is going to be very strong. With the exception of Bonds being dead weight in left field their defense is going to do well. Offensively it's pretty much a wait-and-see who does good, as always. I think the Dodgers/Giants games this year will be pretty awesome games though. I don't see there being any blowouts at this point.

Sorry Giants, upgraded their team. Dodgers just picked up our stuff we crapped up when we took a schmidt. Anyways, I have to say that the Giant-Dodger rivalry is the most insane and greatest rivalry in the history of the game. Screw the BoSox-Yanks, Giants and Dodgers were the original rivalry, even before LA and SF but at NYC and Brooklyn too. I hate ya for loving the dodgers but I love ya for it too.

I hope the Dodgers pound the Giants into the ground every time they play them. Barry (Steroid) Bonds is a disgrace to the game and should be in jail, not on the baseball field.

sweep the giants as in beat them every single time they face each other? no way. the dodgers are better but theyre not going to win every single game against the giants.

did you fall on your head? this is a rivalry that spans two coasts. these two teams battle tooth and nail, and the record book is out the window when they play. if you knew anything about either of these teams, you would know that nearly 20 games is a tall order to ask for a sweep. but i would expect as much, you LA fans show up in the 4th inning, have a couple of cosmopolitans and see what B list celebrities are in attendance, and then leave in the 7th to avoid traffic. that's why the dodgers suck--the worst fans in baseball.
