Why, please? I asked a simple question about the Dixie Chicks and whether or not they annoyed the crap out of anyone else!?! And of course, I got this ever-prevalent little minority of liberals wanting to tell me I hate free speech.. Am I not allowed to criticize someone's speech without it being perceived as criticism OF free speech?? Where does that connection even come from?? I wish they would just shut their annoying cake holes, and it has nothing to do with not liking free speech. It has everything to do with them being retarded, pompous, and narcissistic. Why am I not allowed to be annoyed by someone? They're allowed to bash the president and say he's stupid, but I'm not allowed to say the same thing about them?? Why the hypocrisy?

Bettysdad: "The ONLY reason you even think about the Chicks is because of what they said.
That makes you intolerant of free speech."
We're all dumber for having read your comment. It was actually borderline incomprehensible.

28% .. why can't you hunt it down? no one else seemed to have any difficulty answering this question. i didn't feel i needed "proof" to simply ask for opinions. (?)

Absolutely. That is a typical response from liberals--they can't win, so they bring on the court system. And as usual, they can't tell a constitutional right when they see one. If the Dixie Chicks had been arrested, that would be a violation of their right to free speech. As an individual with no political power over them, you are not even capable of infringing on their free speech. The framers certainly never thought that allowing free speech meant never voicing objection to it. So bash away.

I agree with you about them being annoying. And I for one don't care if they are the biggest supporters of George and and super right wing Conservatives or if they are super left wing Liberals. Their music grates on my nerves. Something about the pitch of their voices.
And it is just as annoying to me; George Bush trying to sound like a Texan when he talks. He's a Northeastern. He was not born in Texas and he was not raised in Texas. He did not go to school in Texas and he did not go to College in Texas he went to Yale. He is in reality a Northeastern Yalee Blue Blood. So I wish he would drop that annoying phony Texas accent.

Here, Here! See I love the fact that if you speak out about the Chixie ***** then you get creamed by the bleeding hearts, but they trash talk the President around the water cooler all day and that's free speech!

Link to the question you asked, so we can read the answers. A little proof goes a long way. Otherwise you're just flapping your gums. In the words of the immor(t)al Bush "Bring it On!"
You make the accusation, you post the link. It's not my responsibility to chase down the question. You do know how to copy/paste a link don't you?

Well Annie,it's like how I see it,whenever you want someone
to get along & act civilized and show respect for our country,
they tend to hate that!!! I agree with you,I have seen some
of this stuff myself, and liberals do very much have their own
agenda & why they believe they should be the only ones to
have freedom of speech, but what they don't understand is
that when they act this way, people will just watch them alot
more closely and monitor what they do to see if it in any way
matches what they do,& this is how many of them get into
alot of hot water in a very short amount of time!

Uh, yeah, there's nothing wrong with what you're doing.
The problem with free speech is, everybody has it (even those annoying people who assume you're anti-free speech simply because you want some lousy country singers to shut the hell up).
So, deal with it?

Why waste your wishes on their silly old cakeholes! Turn your ears off! Walk away! Don't argue with them go to another person and stop frustrating yourself, it isn't healthy. It is your right as much as theirs so you must walk away. Get it?
Good Luck

Perhaps people were remembering that the Dixie Chicks, who have every right to say anything they want, had their careers damaged, their income decreased and they got DEATH THREATS. So maybe people now feel they need to stand up for them because, after all, this is America.

I'm a liberal, I don't like the Dixie Chicks, and you have just as much right of free speech as they do...or I do. Not all of us are one sided.
