How is this advantageous to Humans in Evelutionalry stand point?

It's a defense mechanism,and almost all creatures have it,especially infants,it's to try and protect them from harm,in theory you're less likely to attack an innocent face.
With babies it helps with the bonding process between the parents and their infants,after all humans by nature are supposed to be a very social species,I suppose that inate instinct extends to all creatures.

Big eyes and round baby-like faces make us think that animals are cute.

Humans who find baby-like characteristics to be "cute" are more likely to take care of their own babies. Those individuals who nurture and care for their own babies will have their own genes passed on in the population.

I my self being an animal lover my self, would have to say that it's the fuzzy and warm feeling that humans get when they see a puppy or kitten, or any other animal. by the way, that picture looks good. lol. jk.
