Smooth, as in "Smooth as silk!" (and slippery, although depending on the weave, it can also be rough).

Texture Of Silk

By describing what it feels like. For instance:
The exquisitely smooth, soft texture of the dress, was cool to the touch. Her full-skirted long dress flowed on her lithe form as she walked into the room, the material moving like a whisper on a summer's breeze.

Or:

Cool like a spring pool, smooth like a well polished piece of wood, light like gossamer web from a spider's spinerettes and light like the whisper of a summer breeze, that is silk.

Hope this helps.
