Tourist visa question..?

Can you get a year-long tourist visa??

I'm sure i have read about it, but can't seem to find it anywhere.

I want to visit every state .. but 3 months isn't long enough to do that..

It is in the competency of the American Embassy to decide for how long time they would issue a visa to a person. For tourism visas in general do not exceed 6 months. However depending what country you are from you might be able to get multi-visa. That allows you to come back and visit again.
