1 mile = 1.6 km
55 miles/hr = 1.6*55 km/hr = 88 km/hr
So 80 km/hr is slower than 55 miles/hr.
You would not be speeding.

Roughly 80 kph = 80 * .6 m/km = 48 mph.
So no you would not be exceeding the 55 mph in the US.

Although most Canadians understand Miles there signs are written in Kilometers per hour. 80kmp = 50mph
But really, how old is your textbook, we haven't had a 55mph speed limit since last century

That would be 80 kilometers. Look down at your speedometer and it will tell you in both mph and kilometers.
