Here is a link to your first question. The info looks shaky at best. The female pope was supposedly Pope Joan. The word pope comes from the word poppa "father" so this legend is worse than the first.

I'm not sure he was "officially" gay. but nasty old Pope Gregory had a naked little boy jump out of a cake, at a Papacy installation, investiture, whatever it's called. It should have been called his "coming out" party
