First of all, let me say, my husband is deployed now too so (((hugs))) to you.
Okay, no, you are not alone. I had this happen with my second pregnancy during the end of the first trimester. It felt like a goldfish flipping around in there and happened more than a few times. No way was it gas. Anyhow, I told the nurse and she said that happens to some women and it happened to her with one of her later pregnancies. I forget the exact reason she gave but it had something to do with the muscles being spread out and thinner or something of that nature.
Don't feel offended if somebody doesn't believe you. It's only because they haven't experienced it but I definitely believe you because the same thing happened to me.

At seven weeks pregnant you feel a lot of gas and maybe twinges from the fetus settling into the uterus. Known as implantation, it happens when the fertilized egg first attaches to the lining of the uterus.
The Baby:
By the end of this week, baby will be between .44 and .52 inch long!! This is about the size of a kernel of corn or a green pea. You can now see where the arm buds are separating into hands as well. The heart has divided into right and left chambers and the primary airways have developed in the lungs.
Fetal Development
Week 2
Fertilization, the joining of the sperm and the egg in the fallopian tube to form a unique human being, occurs. Forty-six chromosomes provide the blueprint for the embryo’s physical characteristics.
A fertilized egg only thirty hours after conception. it is no larger than the head of a pin. Still rapidly dividing, the developing embryo, called a zygote at this stage, floats down from the fallopian tube and towards the uterus.
Week 3
At this point, the blastocyst, or developing embryo, is looking for a spot to implant in the uterus. Early formation of the central nervous system, backbone, and spinal column has begun. The gastrointestinal system has also begun to develop with the kidneys, liver, and intestines forming. The heart has begun to form.
Week 4
Hormones produced by the embryo stop the mother’s menstrual cycle.
Week 5
The embryo’s tiny heart begins to beat by day twenty-one. The brain has developed into 5 areas and some cranial nerves are visible. Arm and leg buds are visible and the formation of the eyes, lips, and nose has begun. The spinal cord grows faster than the rest of the body giving a tail like appearance which disappears as the embryo continues to grow. The placenta begins to provide nourishment for the embryo.
Week 7
Major organs have all begun to form. The embryo has developed its own blood type, unique from the mother’s. Hair follicles and nipples form and knees and elbows are visible. Facial features are also observable. The eyes have a retina and lens. The major muscle system is developed and the embryo is able to move.
Week 8
The embryo is reactive to its environment inside the amniotic sac where it swims and moves. Hands and feet can be seen. At the end of week 8, the embryonic period is over and the fetal stage begins.
Weeks 9-12
The heart is almost completely developed and the heart rate can be heard on a Doppler machine at the doctor’s office. Most major organs and tissues have developed and red blood cells are now produced in the liver. The face is well formed and the eyes are almost fully developed. The eyelids will close and not reopen until the 28th week. Arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet, and toes are fully formed. Nails and earlobes start to form and tooth buds develop in the gums. Fetus can make a fist with its finger. Testosterone (male sex hormone) is produced by the testes in male fetus.

Sure you are feeling something, but it isn't the baby yet. It is still so tiny at this point and not even half of an ounce, so it doesn't have any weight behind it's movements. Maybe you are feeling the changes in your uterus and abdominal muscles, or it may be gas. I think most women start to feel the first movements between 16-20 weeks. There are so many changes going on in your body now, it is hard to know what is what. I got a week-by-week guide about what is happening in my pregnancy b/c I am clueless and it has helped me know what to expect. Congrats!

Hi Kelsie R,
First of all its great that he is so rapt and interested, so be glad:) Is this your first child? If it is, then it isn't so normal to be able to feel movement so early on- normally your uterine walls are too thick still at the first second and even third pregnancies to feel movement at that early stage, but if it is you 4th or 5th, then I believe that you can because the walls are thinner because they have already been stretched a few times before!!
I have had 5 full term babies, and with the 4th and 5th I did feel movement quite early on. If you are having you 1st 2nd or 3rd then it is probalby your insides moving around to make room, for your stretching uterus, or even wind, All the best and congratulations. I hope he will be around for the birth:)

7 weeks is too early for you to feel the real baby's movements. Perhpas it's gas or your mind feeling something inside because you know you are pregnant and your imagination becomes real in your mind. My experience, my baby started moving around 4months. but very seldom movements. After around 24 weeks, the movements are distinct and stronger. The more growing the baby is, the stronger movements she/he makes and you can feel it.
here is what i read in pregnancyweekly.com
Fourth Month
Your little one is six to seven inches long and weighs about five ounces now, and is developing reflexes, such as sucking and swallowing and may begin sucking his or her thumb anytime now. His heart pumps about 25 quarts of blood a day, his or her head is starting to become more erect, and the eyes have moved from the side of her head to the front of her face. You may be able to find out whether it's a boy or a girl during an ultrasound as the external sex organs are developed and visible. He or she is also big enough that "you may begin to feel him wiggle and kick inside you."
For Your husband's word, just explain to him that "yes, it's early but i love the baby and care about the baby this much so that i can feel it and perhaps this is the imagination but i am crazy about our baby. That's why I can feel it."

I think I know how you feel. I was super excited when I was first pregnant and I thought I was feeling my babies when I was only a few weeks along. People were always saying that it wasn't true, or it's too early for that or whatever! It pissed me off. You are probably just feeling gas or muscles or something [[However, if you feel sharp stabbing pains, go to the hospital immediately!!! It could be a serious problem.]] because the baby is like the size of a beetle (I read that in my baby book!) but you know what? It doesn't really matter, its your baby and its inside of YOU. If you think you feel it, then you do. People are going to be telling you things about the it until that baby is like 18, you gotta learn to just blow it off. Old people are especially annoying about that.

i understand this is not your first child. and your tired of the norm BS answer, so heres a thought the baby is about the size of a peanut maybe a little bigger,if you are really sensitive you could feel not the baby move but have the baby move and make you feel butterflies or a weird sensation unless anyones an obgyn i don't think they should dole out definates. Just remember not every pregnancy is the same this time around could be completely different for you. and as for getting ticked at your husband chalk it up to mood swings and hormones yesterday i yelled at my husband for something much smaller so he should understand

Don't be offended he just wondering. It might be too early to feel the baby now but you never know. Its most likely something else going on inside of you as your body is going through all these changes.

There is no way you'd feel the baby at 7 weeks, first pregnancy or not.
The baby is 1/2 an inch long. That's about _____ long.
It's gas. Or your muscles expanding.

It is to early to feel your baby moving so it is most likely gas or something else. You most likely will not feel anything until 16-22 weeks. I didn't feel any movement until 20 weeks.
