Try a 67-70 Camaro or Charger, or a Plymouth Barracuda if your going for massive burnouts when you plant it off the line. If not, go an 80's Mustang GT (5.0L) or a similar vintage Camaro or Firebird (305cid). Or, if you want something different go for a Buick Grand National or a 60's Impala. Hope this helps.

I just purchased a 2001 Ford Mustang Cobra. Completely stock it produces 320 hp. coupled with a 5 speed transmission. What a fun car to drive!! This car is completely different from regular Mustangs from suspension upgrades to the engine. Ford done this one right! To find one, get on Autotrader.com and type in "2001 ford mustang cobra". I had to drive 350 miles to buy the one that I wanted, but it sure was worth it. Also, you can find out about the history of the car by going to carfax.com. $24.95 will allow you to screen unlimited amount of vehicles for 30 days. This data will show where the car has been, how many owners, if it was involved in any type of accident etc. It really narrows the field until you find one you really want to go look at. Buying a car is fun....but take the precautions and really look at what you are getting.

True "Muscle" cars from the 60's and 70's were easy to find 20 years ago but these days they are very hard to come by. You should try Ebay but it's not likely you'll find anything cheap unless it needs a ton of work. Cars that were selling for around $5000 20 years ago are selling for at least $25000 today.

If you want a muscle car be prepared to fix it cause you know your gonna beat on it. I'd look for '87-89 Ford Mustang with a 5 litre in it. Or a Camaro of the same years with a 305 in it. They are pretty cheap, the Camaros that is.

You can't afford it. One that fits your description is not going to be cheap. I doubt very much that you could get a loan for what you would to get one. One person suggested an mid 90'Mustang or Camaro, Might work except they have there info backwards .Mustang can be had for a lot lower price than a Camaro.

1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. 383 engine with automatic transmission. It is 335 HP. Most came as plain janes. No air conditioning, no power steering. Not much to go wrong on them.
Good luck finding one.

Good luck!!! Muscle cars are not cheap or easy to come by. If you do find you cheap you are most likely going to have to completly restore it! If I were to pick, 69 G.T.O Judge is my favorite muscle car!!Get a goat!!
