The Democrats have already said they will raise taxes on fuel and between Hillary and John Edwards it won't be long before they try socialized medicine.

As for guns, they are just now over licking their wounds from the last time they pushed gun control but I don't think they learned their lesson. They will repackage it to something like "Public Safety" or some such nonsense and will try again.

I will be surprised if they stay away from this for any length of time. The liberals in the Democratic party don't get it. To them the inanimate object is evil incarnate. Not because of crime but because a man with a gun is more independent that a man without out. I would imagine that we will see some strong gun control measures come up for a vote within two years after the Democrats consolidate their base. What remains to be seen is if the pro gun Democrats, (there are some you know) will go along for the ride of if they show some backbone and stand up to the liberals in the party.

I think the national Democrats have learned their lesson about guns, so you might be OK for a while. Of course, they could change once they consolidated power, so we should keep them out of the presidency.

Taxes will be going up within weeks. The medical system will be a tough sell. They are just going to do that a little at a time, so I would estimate 30 years.

Ford Prefect--you are endowed with the standard liberal ignorance of economics. Bush's tax cuts have increased revenues, not cut them. The problem is out of control spending. And it was the Republican Congress that reduced the deficit when Clinton was president--he wanted to spend a lot more.

They are already trying. Taxes will go up which would be ok if it actually went towards something I use. No I don't need FEMA, Welfare or any of that other ****. If I did I still wouldnt use it because I believe in being a productive & responsible citizen. Now user fees would be cool! Again our taxes would go to support universal health care which of course I dont care about. Let me save my money and use it for what I need, not stuff I may never use. People want, want, want yet they dont want to pay for it lol. Anybody who supports universal health care feel free to write ur IRS an additional check amount. As for guns they want to get rid of those because anybody with a brain might use it on them, j/k. They cry freedom of speech and blah blah blah yet they forget the right to bear arms. Its amazing how both sides use only whats convenient for them.

Just as soon as someone can propose and they can vote on a tax hike. And hey, I'm barely above poverty level. Why should I have to be taxed to pay someone Else's medical insurance when I have to pay for my own? True socialism get closer every time the Democrats get control of the government. As for guns, if the Dems get their way, only the criminals will have them and the rest of us won't have any way to protect ourselves. I'd like to be able to say our law enforcement will protect us, but let's face facts, they've got too much to keep up with now.

LOL, I'm with you bro. I love my country, enjoy my freedom and would gladly pick up my rifle and fight for them tomorrow. That is if the candy *** liberal leftists allow me to keep them. It's getting worse each and every day. Taxes along with cheap laws put in place by local, state and federal governments to make a quick dime and deprive us of more and more of our freedom has gone to far. It's hard to watch and I have no idea where it will end but I do know this. At the rate were going we'll be using recycled toilet paper that will be rationed by some governing law 20 years from now. The ability to install new laws by different levels of our government needs to be controlled before everyone forgets about the rights that we have and we end up losing our rights as Americans for ever.

They will lay the groundwork from now and start in earnest on the day their candidate takes the presidential oath of office. If they get a 61% majority in both houses, nothing will be able to prevent them from achieving their aims.

They are working on it now. But the Republicans can sustain a Bush veto, if it comes to that. If a Democrat is elected in 2008, it'll be time to head for the hills.

It will only be after 2008, and only if a Democrat is elected as President, which I doubt. Demoncrats do not want US citizens to have guns, we might decide to defend our self against terrorist and they do not want their friends shot at. Taxes have always been raised by Democrats, they are takers , not givers.

Hopefully never; but they're not gonna stop trying.

They'll also be the first to complain when these actions result in poverty, substandard health care, and a police state.
